Job summary

UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford Hospital are hiring a Full-Time Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) to support the Emergency Department. Emergency Medicine experience is preferred, with 12-hour shifts (7 per biweek) including days and nights across Altoona and Bedford.

The APP will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, manage patient care, and participate in ongoing professional development within the ED team, with a focus

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
• Current state RN license and CRNP certification required.
• Current CPR certification required; Act 33/ Act 73/ Act 34 clearances may be required.
• ARC-PA accredited PA program completed; NCCPA certification preferred for PA track.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care activities with independent judgment and collaboration.
• Establish collaborative relationships with physicians and other providers.
• Adhere to department policies to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
• Lead and participate in professional development and evidence-based practice.
• Support growth and continuity of care within the ED team.
