Job summary

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine seeks a physician leader to serve as Medical Director at UF Health Ocala Neighborhood Hospital – Emergency Department. This role blends clinical practice with department leadership and guides a growing team of Emergency Medicine physicians under a community-focused care model.

As Medical Director, you will set clinical and cultural tone, ensure quality and consistency of care, and act as the primary liaison

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice medicine in Florida or eligible.
• Emergency Medicine leadership experience preferred.
• Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and quality of care within the department.
• Build and sustain a collaborative, high-performing team of physicians and clinical support staff.
• Address physician performance and behavioral concerns directly and constructively.
• Serve as a liaison with hospital administration and department leadership.
• Guide the department through growth and operational transitions as the Microhospital scales.
• Champion a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence in patient care.
