Job summary

ChristianaCare in Newark is seeking an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist for a full-time midnight shift (7 on/7 off). You will collaborate with healthcare providers, assess drug therapy, and deliver medication-related care to improve outcomes.

Requires PharmD, ASHP PGY1, PGY2 EM, and Delaware licensure. Responsibilities include ED-based pharmacotherapy, education of the ED team, med history review, and development of emergency medicine drug protocols.

Qualifications

• PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required.
• ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required or equivalent.
• ASHP-accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Residency (Emergency Medicine) required or equivalent.
• Board Certification within 2 years of hire.
• Current licensure in Delaware or eligible to reciprocate.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED clinical pharmacotherapy and drug therapy management.
• Collaborate with ED team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate ED staff on pharmacotherapy and protocols.
• Review medication histories and reconcile meds at admission/transfer/discharge.
• Develop ED-focused drug therapy protocols and order sets.
• Participate in ADE reporting and investigational drug programs.
