Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX seeks an Emergency Medicine Assistant Professor to lead patient care and education in an active academic division.

The role requires MD or DO with board eligibility, active Texas licensure, and commitment to clinical excellence, teaching, and scholarly activity within EPIC documentation, credentialing, and ongoing CME. This is an exempt, full-time position within our Emergency Medicine division.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree is required.
• Active medical license in Texas.
• Credentialing and licensure must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for patient care in the Emergency Center.
• Maintain productivity standards set by the department.
• Keep up with continuing medical education (CME) requirements.
• Renew and meet all required licenses and certifications.
• Familiarize with EPIC EMR and document patient encounters.
• Complete documentation in a timely manner to support billing and operations.
• Maintain credentialing at all times to ensure uninterrupted practice.

Emergency Medicine (Assistant Professor)

Location: Houston, TX

Summary

To provide coverage for patient care for BenTaub and other affiliate hospitals. This is a critical piece of the clinical service that will help maintain coverage within the Emergency Center.

The physician is expected to demonstrate competency in following areas:

• Productivity needs to meet or exceed standards set by the Department
• Keep up with continuing medical education as per college and section requirements.
• Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements.
• Familiarize with EPIC- electronic medical records and document all patient encounters as needed.
• Complete all documentation in a timely manner so that billing and other administrative tasks can happen smoothly to ensure a robust operational system.
• Maintaining credentialing at all times to ensure practice is not disrupted.

Education: MD or DO is required.
