Job summary

Wander Staffing is seeking Emergency Medical Technician Training Instructors to support METC at Joint Base San Antonio–Fort Sam Houston, TX. Fifteen instructors will help prepare students in emergency lifesaving care, trauma response, and casualty stabilization.

The role moves experienced EMTs/Paramedics into instruction with classroom and hands-on teaching, using current EMT standards of care. Core hours are 0700–1700, Monday–Friday, with onboarding and ongoing professional development provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of EMT experience with active EMT/Paramedic licensure and current BLS certification.
• ITC completed within the past five (5) years, or ability to complete within 30 days of hire or when the next training seat is available.
• Ability to complete METC instructor onboarding and certification (CFD-IC, CTC, MIO, supervised teaching, evaluations).
• Strong communication and presentation skills, knowledge of adult learning and instructional methods, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Licensure/certification fees and required continuing education for renewal are the employee's responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Teach emergency lifesaving care, trauma response, and casualty stabilization using EMT materials.
• Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction through lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and practical activities.
• Help develop and update lesson plans, tests, and course content (trauma care, TCCC, medical evacuation, etc.).
• Maintain attendance, grades, and training records; administer exams; provide tutoring as needed.
• Provide course feedback and participate in required trainings and meetings.

Wander Staffing is seeking fifteen (15) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Training Instructors to support the Medical Education & Training Campus (METC) at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. This role is an opportunity for experienced EMTs and Paramedics to move into instruction and help prepare students in emergency lifesaving care, trauma response, and casualty stabilization.

LOCATION

• Building 1350: 2950 Koehler Rd, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234
• MIF 6, Building 1374: 3375 CPL Johnson Rd, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, TX 78234

COMPENSATION

• Rate: $41.59/hr
• W2 Position
• Medical benefits available

SCHEDULE

• Core Hours: 0700-1700, Monday-Friday
• Staggered arrival (0700-0800) / departure (1600-1700) windows

CONTRACT DETAILS

• 30 September 2026 - 29 September 2027
• Monday through Friday; no work required on recognized federal holidays

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Strong communication and presentation skills, knowledge of adult learning and instructional methods, and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Licensure/certification fees and required continuing education for renewal are the responsibility of the employee

DUTIES

• Teach emergency lifesaving care, trauma response, and casualty stabilization using approved EMT and Combat Medic course materials
• Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction through lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and practical activities using current EMT standards of care
• Help develop and update lesson plans, tests, handouts, and course content covering areas such as trauma care, TCCC, limited primary care, medical evacuation, force protection, CBRN-related content, and trauma scenarios
• Maintain attendance, grades, and training records; administer and review exams; and provide tutoring or remedial instruction when needed
• Provide course feedback, participate in required training and meetings, and follow applicable institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements

• 100% indoor work in classroom and clinical settings
