Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York City seeks a NYS EMT to respond rapidly to emergency calls, provide clinical and field care, complete histories and exams, initiate treatments, and transfer patients with safe hand-off to the ED. You will operate ambulances, maintain equipment, write comprehensive reports, keep logs, and comply with NYSDOH and FDNY standards.

Requires a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and NYSDOH Emergency Medical Technician certification plus a valid Tri-State

Qualifications

• Four year high school diploma or equivalent.
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification as required by NYSDOH.
• Tri-State issued driver’s license with clean abstract.
• EVOC completion desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receives emergency calls and responds promptly to assignments.
• Ensures patient safety for the patient and personnel at all times.
• Performs medical histories and physical exams in the field.
• Initiates indicated treatments per medical control orders.
• Provides direct patient care from first contact through hand-off to ED.
• Maintains ambulance logs and documents incident reports as required.
• Operates vehicle and equipment safely and maintains readiness to standards.
• Maintains professional appearance and adheres to protocols.
