What You’ll Do
  • Educate potential donors on the plasmapheresis process, what to expect, and highlight the positive impact of plasma donation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
  • Evaluate donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical and health histories under the supervision of the Center Medical/Lab Director, in accordance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and all applicable guidelines.
  • Assess donor eligibility based on health history and test results, providing counseling on deferrals as needed.
  • Manage major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
  • Maintain medical supplies, keep exam rooms clean and sanitized, and uphold universal precautions with PPE.
  • Communicate with the Center Medical/Lab Director regarding test results and donor suitability.
  • Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff.

Qualifications
  • Certified/licensed EMT or equivalent in the state of employment, according to state requirements.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Experience in a GMP environment with plasma or blood, or related clinical experience.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, lifting at least 50 lbs, and sitting or standing for extended periods.
