Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks an EMT to provide pre-hospital care and transportation for emergency and non-emergency patients within the Life Flight Network program in Waterville. The Basic EMT will operate an ambulance safely and stay current on required certifications and continuing education.

Essential functions include responding to calls, patient assessments, airway management, CPR/AED use, and keeping accurate reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EVOC training required within 3 months of hire.
• Basic EMT certification in state of practice required.
• Valid State Driver's License required.

Job Summary

The EMT will provide care and transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients in the pre-hospital environment and scenes at the Basic EMT level of care defined by the State EMS scope of practice. The EMT will operate an ambulance in a safe and efficient manner. Basic EMT will keep current on all required certification and continuing education.

Essential Functions

• Participates/attends required trainings
• Provides proper care, safe and efficient transport
• Maintains reports and records
• Cares for vehicle and equipment
• Maintains confidentiality and actively supports patient/family rights
• Serves as a patient advocate

Education

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Vocational/Technical Degree (preferred)

Licensure / Certification

• Basic EMT certification in state of practice (required)
• Valid State Driver's License (required)
• BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required)
• Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) (required within 3 months of hire)

Experience

• 1 year experience with incident-free driving (required)
• 1-3 of experience (preferred)
