Job summary

Mercy Health seeks an EMT to provide care and transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients in pre-hospital settings and at Basic EMT level. The role includes operating an ambulance safely and maintaining required certifications and education.

You will work within Mercy Health’s Life Flight Network base in Toledo, with duties spanning patient assessment, airway management, CPR/AED use, and transport of patients while upholding confidentiality and patient rights.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Vocational/Technical Degree is preferred.
  • Basic EMT certification in state of practice is required.
  • Valid State Driver’s License is required.
  • BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association is required.
  • EVOC training is required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to calls and performs patient assessments.
  • Provides basic airway management.
  • Provides CPR and use of AED.
  • Participates in required trainings.
  • Provides proper care and safe transport.
  • Maintains reports and records.

The EMT will provide care and transportation of emergency and non-emergency patients in the pre-hospital environment and scenes at the Basic EMT level of care defined by the State EMS scope of practice. The EMT will operate an ambulance in a safe and efficient manner. Basic EMT will keep current on all required certification and continuing education.
