Compensation: $19 - $24/hour plus monthly bonus potential and benefits

What You’ll Do

As the resident Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you will manage donor medical needs at Donor Centers and ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. You will work under the guidance and general oversight of the Center Medical/Lab Director. The EMT's role is critical to Parachute’s donor-centric mission and offers an opportunity to be part of an agile, passionate, and fast-growing team.

1. Educate potential donors on the plasmapheresis process, what to expect, and highlight the positive impact of plasma donation.
2. Maintain confidentiality of donor and staff records.
3. Evaluate donors by performing physical examinations and taking medical and health histories under supervision of the Center Medical/Lab Director, in accordance with FDA-approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and all other applicable guidelines.
4. Review and evaluate donor screening information to ensure eligibility and suitability for donation.
5. Counsel donors on deferrals due to test results or health reasons.
6. Treat major reactions and evaluate donor injuries.
7. Maintain medical supplies, keep exam rooms clean and sanitized, and uphold universal precautions with PPE.
8. Manage medical communication logs with the Center Medical/Lab Director and review test results to determine donor suitability.
9. Oversee the Hepatitis B program for staff employees.

Qualifications

• Certified/licensed EMT or equivalent in the state of employment, with current certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Experience in GMP environments with plasma or blood, or related clinical experience.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pulling, lifting at least 50 lbs, and sitting or standing for extended periods.
