Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine in Mifflintown, PA, is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic for a PRN role within our occupational health team. You will respond to emergencies, provide frontline medical support, and coordinate with hospitals and on-site staff.

Required are EMT/paramedic certification with reciprocity and CPR/AED. Weekend availability and strong interpersonal skills are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• EMT or paramedic certification (state and/or National Registry) with reciprocity.
• Previous EMT/paramedic experience or 911 response experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule; weekend availability required.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification; additional certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies efficiently and promptly.
• Administer basic first aid and medical support per policy and regulations.
• Assess injuries/illnesses to prioritize medical procedures.
• Communicate with medical professionals and treatment facilities for instructions.
• Communicate with client/site personnel about incidents and hazards.
• Demonstrate teamwork and coordination with others.
• Remain cognizant of changing worksite environments and hazards.
• Maintain quality clinical standards at all times.
• Document all findings and treatments clearly.
• Conduct oneself professionally under stress and assist Safety Managers to maintain a safe environment.
• Support site safety efforts to keep the work environment safe.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responding to emergencies efficiently and promptly
• Administering basic first aid and medical support to patients, in accordance with federal, state, local and company policy and regulations
• Assessing the nature and extent of injuries/illnesses to prioritize medical procedures
• Effectively communicating with medical professionals and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further action
• Effectively communicating with client and site personnel regarding any worksite incidents, hazards, etc.
• Demonstrating a strong orientation towards team work and the ability to understand the importance of team coordinated efforts
• Demonstrating a strong ability to be cognizant of the constantly changing worksite environment and construction site hazards
• Ensuring that quality, clinical standards are practiced at all times
• Documenting all findings and treatments clearly and concisely
• Conducting oneself in a helpful, dignified and professional manner regardless of stress level and personal circumstances
• Assisting the Site Safety Managers and Personnel in maintaining the most safe and secure work environment possible

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• EMT or paramedic state certification and/or National Registry; Must provide proof of reciprocity
• Previous EMT or paramedic experience, 1st response experience or emergency 911 experience preferred
• Flexible schedule; weekend availability required
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification; Any additional certifications are a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with client and employees
