GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assumes and maintains emergency and critical care of patients within the transport environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborates within a multidisciplinary team to establish an appropriate plan of care to safely transport critically ill or injured patients.
• Provides critical care life support and medical care according to established standards, protocols, and PA DOH regulations.
• Serves as an ambassador of AHN Critical Care Transport by demonstrating positive professional appearance, language, and conduct aligned with AHN core behaviors.
• Ensures the safe transport of patients, drives ambulance within PA DOH standards, and complies with EVOC operational standards. Monitors and promotes safety for self and others around the transport vehicle.
• Participates in quality assurance activities, including case reviews, monthly team and safety meetings. Actively engages in PCC and LEAN team activities. Completes all required annual education and training.
• Completes documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards.
• Maintains ambulance medication and supply inventory through daily checks and restocking as needed. Stores medications securely and safely.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum requirements include:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of experience as a licensed driver
• Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance
