General Summary
Responds to EMS calls and performs a variety of functions related to patients in accordance with appropriate rules, regulations, and protocols, according to PA DOH EMS Act and scope of practice.

Required 1 - 12 hour PRN shifts a month
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds to EMS calls whether emergency or routine transport, observes safety policies, and operates an emergency vehicle with due regard for others.
- Provides health care instruction/education to patient and family members.
- Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment.
Common Expectations
- Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.
- Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan of the patient population. Assesses and interprets patient age-specific data, providing appropriate, age-specific treatment.
- Demonstrates a commitment to safety by complying with regulations, reporting errors, and participating in safety programs.
- Maintains policies, objectives, quality, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Participates in educational programs and meetings.
- Provides outstanding service, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility.

Qualifications
Minimum Education
Work Experience
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
Licenses
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician Upon Hire Required or
- Certified Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Upon Hire Required
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
Driver's License Statement
Must possess a valid driver's license in the current state of residence. Driving record must meet requirements established by WellSpan Risk Management.
