POSITION: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

DEPARTMENT: Emergency Medical Services

HOURS: 0.75 FTE (60 hours per pay period) rotating days/nights including weekends and holidays

WAGE RANGE: $19.84 - $25.51

General Responsibilities

The fundamental responsibility of the EMT-B is to conserve life, alleviate suffering, promote health, do no harm, and ensure the availability of quality emergency medical care. The EMT-B is qualified through a competency-based education program in pre-hospital emergency care. The practice standards shall align with the latest edition of "Emergency Medical Technician: National Standard Curriculum."

Education/Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some advanced education preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Current state or National Registry EMT-B Certification.
  • Driving record compliant with AMR policy regarding insurability.
Skills
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience
  • Previous work experience, preferably in healthcare, is desired.
