Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to provide primary BLS life support care, evaluate and stabilize critically ill or injured patients, and monitor vitals during transport. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to exchange patient information and ensure safe arrival and handoff.

Responsibilities include performing EMT duties, maintaining equipment, daily cleaning and disinfection routines, and precise report writing.

Qualifications

• High School or GED (Required).
• Specialized knowledge includes patient assessment, airway management, bleeding control, splint application, equipment knowledge, protocols, scope of practice, and administration of EMT level medications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies with patient assessment, vital signs, monitoring and diagnostics, and safe transport.
• Maintain equipment in proper working order.
• Daily cleaning and weekly disinfection of ambulances and equipment and station.
• Report writing and documentation.

Job Description Summary:

Provide primary BLS Life Support Care to include medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured as well as on-going monitoring of patient’s vitals during transport. This will require working directly with physicians and nursing staff to inform and receive patient information regarding the patient’s condition on arrival or prior to transporting.

Responsibilities And Duties:

60% - Performs primary job responsibilities listed for Emergency Medical Technician to include response, patient assessment, vital signs, patient monitoring and diagnostics, patient moving and lifting, medication administration.

20% - Maintaining Equipment in proper working order

10% - Daily cleaning to include mandatory weekly disinfecting of ambulances/equipment and station.

10% - Report writing and documentation
