Job summary

OhioHealth in Ohio is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to provide primary BLS life support, perform patient evaluation, treatment and stabilization during transport, and relay patient information to physicians and nursing staff on arrival or prior to moving.

You will support safety, quality and efficiency in a high‑reliability environment, with duties including response, patient assessment, vital signs, equipment care, cleaning, report writing and documentation in a 40‑hour,

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Specialized knowledge includes patient assessment, airway management, bleeding control, and splint application.
• Knowledge of equipment, protocols, and EMT medications administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary BLS life support including evaluation, treatment and stabilization during transport.
• Work with physicians and nursing staff to convey patient information on arrival or prior to transporting.
• 60% - emergency response, patient assessment, vital signs, monitoring, diagnostics, moving and lifting, med administration.
• 20% - Maintain equipment in proper working order.
• 10% - Daily cleaning and weekly disinfection of ambulances/equipment and station.
• 10% - Report writing and documentation.

Job Description Summary

Provide primary BLS Life Support Care to include medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization of the critically ill and injured as well as on‑going monitoring of patient’s vitals during transport. This will require working directly with physicians and nursing staff to inform and receive patient information regarding the patient's condition on arrival or prior to transporting.

Responsibilities And Duties

60% - Performs primary job responsibilities listed for Emergency Medical Technician to include response, patient assessment, vital signs, patient monitoring and diagnostics, patient moving and lifting, medication administration.

20% - Maintaining Equipment in proper working order

10% - Daily cleaning to include mandatory weekly disinfecting of ambulances/equipment and station.

10% - Report writing and documentation

As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
