County Rescue | Green Bay, WI

About Us

County Rescue Services, a private nonprofit ambulance provider, provides exceptional 911 coverage throughout Northeast Wisconsin.

In addition, County Rescue Services partners with local and regional medical facilities to provide both emergent and non-emergent interfacility transports for patients.

Through collaboration and innovation, we aim to enhance the health and safety of our communities and partners, making a lasting impact on those we serve.

Our goal is to deliver life-saving emergency medical services with efficiency and compassion, ensuring positive patient outcomes and prioritizing the well-being and dignity of our patients above all else.

We currently employ licensed medical personnel ranging from EMTs to Critical Care Transport (CCT) Paramedics.

County Rescue is part of AEGIS Group, alongside EAGLE III, giving team members opportunities to grow their careers across both ground EMS and critical care air medical services.

Position Summary

We are hiring EMTs/AEMTs for both Full-Time and Part-Time roles, and you'll let us know which you're interested in when you apply. Full-Time team members work 24-hour shifts on a rotating cycle, while Part-Time team members have the flexibility to choose 12- or 24-hour shifts. EMTs and AEMTs work under the direction of the Assistant Supervisor and Shift Supervisor on duty and ultimately report to the EMS Chief.

We hire EMTs and AEMTs in quarterly cycles and maintain applications for consideration as openings become available. Application review and interview time may therefore vary based on current staffing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides safe, effective, and timely transport of ill or injured patients, delivering care within the scope of Wisconsin EMT/AEMT practice, agency protocols, and medical direction.
  • Communicate effectively with all health care and public safety staff involved in patient care.
  • Assesses patient condition, plans care, intervene appropriately, and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Operates emergency and non-emergency response vehicles safely in accordance with agency policy and traffic laws.
  • Completes accurate, complete, and timely patient care reports and other required clinical and operational documentation.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment by completing vehicle and equipment cleaning, inventory, and minor maintenance.
  • Demonstrates continual awareness and use of positive interpersonal communication and public relations skills in supporting the philosophy, mission, and quality of care of County Rescue Services.
  • Maintains effective internal and external working relationships.
Requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and assist in moving patients and equipment, independently and as part of a team. Patient and equipment loads may exceed 400 lbs. and may require team-based patient handling and/or appropriate lifting equipment.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, twist, and climb in and out of the ambulance across a range of settings, including uneven, sloped, or hazardous terrain.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving or monitoring patients, including on shifts up to 24 hours.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, with exposure to loud sirens and bright or dim lighting.
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks required within the employee's scope of practice, such as operating medical and communications equipment and, when applicable, starting IVs and administering medications.
  • Regular exposure to blood and communicable diseases is expected; PPE and OSHA-compliant procedures are provided and required.
Qualifications
  • Current Wisconsin EMT or AEMT license required.
  • Previous 911 EMS and/or interfacility transport experience preferred but not required
  • Current CPR certification; ICS 100, 200, and 700 preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet and maintain applicable company and insurance carrier driver eligibility requirements.
  • Will maintain education requirements necessary to maintain licensure and/or certifications.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical agility test.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check. A conviction or pending criminal charge will not automatically disqualify an applicant and will be considered in accordance with applicable law.
  • Job offer contingent on background check, reference check, and drug screen.
