Job summary

JPS Health Network in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Emergency Medical Tech II for the Clinical Decision Unit during mid-shift. You will perform EKGs, venipuncture, IV skills, bedside testing, and assist with patient care and transports under supervision.

This role requires EMT-B TX or EMT-P, Texas EMT registration and current BLS certification, plus relevant experience levels. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly with nurses and physicians, and follows

Responsibilities

• Performs EKGs, venipuncture, IV skills, and bedside testing.
• Provides emergency first aid and responds to medical emergencies.
• Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher and notifies nurse of changes.
• Accesses Epic and performs clerical functions as needed.
• Supports direct and indirect patient care and clinical tasks.

Job Summary: The Emergency Medical Tech II performs various technical duties and tasks which include assisting with direct and indirect treatment and care of patients.

Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities:

• Performs EKGs, venipuncture (not applicable to the Emergency Department), IV skills, and bedside testing.
• Provides emergency first aid treatment.
• Responds to medical emergencies.
• Performs basic patient care with consideration for age and developmental stage.
• Transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Notifies nurse of abnormal findings or changes in patient status.
• Performs clerical functions.
• Accesses and navigates through Epic.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of the Basic Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B TX) or Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P) curriculum as defined by the State of Texas.
• State Registration as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B TX) or Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic (EMT-P).
• Current JPS-recognized BLS certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
• 4779 EMT I: 0 -1.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4780 EMT II: 2-4.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4781 EMT III: 5-9.99 years of relevant experience.
• 4782 EMT IV: 10+ years of relevant experience.
