Job description

STA Personnel Solutions in South Africa is a global BPO company partnering with a USA-based client offering private medical transportation. We are seeking an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Dispatcher. The ideal candidate will be resilient, able to stay calm in challenging situations, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

**This position requires flexibility, with shifts from Mon to Sun, including up to 12-hour shifts across 2 to 3 days and shorter shifts on remaining days.**

Important Notes:

  • Internet Requirements: Fixed fibre line with minimum 25 Mbps upload & download speeds and support for wired Ethernet connection are mandatory. Applicants without this cannot be considered.
  • Power Backup: Reliable power backup to manage load shedding and outages is required. Applicants without backup cannot be considered.
  • Work Environment: This is a remote role for South African Citizens only.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Answering incoming administrative, non-emergency, and emergency calls with professional etiquette.
  • Promptly assessing the required response levels.
  • Triaging calls and entering data into the system.
  • Data entry with attention to detail.
  • Monitoring the dispatch system to ensure units are en-route, post moves are timely, and units are within acceptable distances.
  • Providing routing instructions.
  • Investigating and reporting time exceptions.
  • Completing and submitting daily reports.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in the healthcare industry is beneficial.
  • Dispatch or coordination experience is an advantage.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or in a team.
  • Radio communication skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
