Job summary

Norton Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - NKDH to deliver frontline emergency medical care and safe patient transport within the EMT Basic scope. You will respond to 911 calls, assess patients, provide BLS, and support higher level clinicians as needed.

Ensure ambulance and equipment readiness and maintain accurate documentation for dispatch and partners. Role requires a valid driver’s license and Indiana EMT certification, with a preference for one year of Basic EMT

Responsibilities

The Emergency Medical Technician-NKDH, (EMT) delivers frontline emergency medical care and safe patient transportation within the EMT Basic scope of practice. This position responds to 911 calls, performs patient assessments, provides basic life support (BLS), and assists higher level clinicians when needed. The EMT ensures the ambulance and equipment are ready for service, maintain accurate documentation, communicates effectively with dispatch and healthcare partners, and operates with professionalism, safety, and compassion. This role plays a vital role in protecting public health and supporting emergency response operations within the community.

• This role requires driving Norton Healthcare vehicles, which could include transporting patients and visitors. You must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record**
