Job summary

Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY seeks an EMT to perform pre-hospital treatment and transport of sick or injured patients across all ages.

On-scene and in the ambulance, you will assess patients, make treatment decisions within your scope, use equipment correctly, and help ensure safe transport.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EMT Certification for State of KY required.
• Previous EMT experience preferred.

Job description

The EMT is responsible for the pre-hospital treatment and transport of the sick or injured of all age groups. Uses appropriate skills and knowledge on the scene and in the ambulance to best protect and treat the patient. Calmly makes appropriate decisions in all situations as to treatment, transportation and extrication. Understands limitations and stays within those limitations when treating or discussing treatment of his/her patient. Uses equipment assigned to incumbent appropriately so as tonot injure patient or abuse equipment. Possess the ability to assess the patient and situation so as to determine actions needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED
• EMT Certification for State of KY
• Previous experience as an EMT preferred.
