Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises is seeking an Emergency Management Specialist to support ACE's emergency management program by developing plans, delivering training, and coordinating with business units and agencies. The role focuses on creating procedures, conducting exercises, and supporting notification systems.

You will train volunteers, assist with cross-functional continuity planning, and manage relevant SaaS tools, building preparedness across the organization. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in emergency management, safety, public administration, or related discipline is required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) or more years in emergency management, business continuity, or closely related experience.
  • Experience delivering emergency management presentations to small and large audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with training and management of ACE emergency response volunteers.

Job description

The Emergency Management (EM) Specialist is responsible for assisting with the management of Auto Club Enterprise’s (ACE’s) emergency management program, developing and delivering emergency training and exercises, assisting with the development of emergency plans, procedures, and other supporting documentation, and serving as a touchpoint for other business units and/or agencies on matters relating to emergency management.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with developing planning, training, exercises, and other departments’ crafted documentation related to emergency management.
  • Assist with the training and management of ACE emergency response volunteers.
  • Assist with planning, training, and operational outreach relating to the implementation of assigned EM programs.
  • Assist with and serve as an administrator of the department’s Software as a Service (SaaS), emergency notification system, and other technologies as assigned.
  • Develop and deliver EM training and exercises (discussion- and operations-based) to a variety of audiences.
  • Partner and assist with the department’s cross-functional program, Business Continuity.
  • Perform related work as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in emergency management, safety, public administration, or related discipline is required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
  • A minimum of two (2) or more years in emergency management, business continuity, or closely related experience.
  • Experience assisting in creating and delivering emergency management presentations to small and large audiences.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
  • Completion of incident command courses within six (6) months of hire: FEMA IC-100, 200, 300, 700, and 800.
Preferred Education And Experience Requirements
  • FEMA Professional Development Series
  • HSEEP Certification
  • 1 year experience in discussion and operations-based exercise environment.
  • 1 year experience in emergency plan development.
