The Emergency Management Managing Associate - Mitigation will help sub-applicants navigate through the process of obtaining Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants. A successful candidate in this role will have a deep understanding of the FEMA HMA (Hazard Mitigation Assistance) program.

Responsibilities for the Emergency Management Managing Associate - Mitigation Include:

  • Develop programmatic RFIs.
  • Write competitive HMA project sub-applications.
  • Screen / triage NOIs/LOIs for eligibility and highlight potential feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and EHP compliance issues.
  • Provide grant management/compliance services for awarded HMA subgrants/grants.
  • Assist sub applicants and/or applicants with Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC), Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA), Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), and Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM).

Qualifications for the Emergency Management Managing Associate - Mitigation Include:

  • At least three (3) years of experience focused on the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) Program.
  • Strategic understanding of the FEMA HMA program and layered funding approaches with HMA, 406 Mitigation, and the United States (US) Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program.
  • Experience effectively working with or managing a team.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to produce technically and programmatically sound deliverables with little oversight.

Compensation for the Emergency Management Managing Associate - Mitigation Includes:

  • Salary range of $70,000 - $110,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
  • Comprehensive benefits program, including health/dental/vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending accounts (FSA) for health and transit/parking, short- and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid time off, holidays, sick leave, and more.
