Job summary

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) seeks an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator for the Nebo Maintenance Facility. The role handles snow removal operations under direct supervision with hourly wage bands and a $3 per hour adjustment during winter/emergency activities.

Wage rates are $20.00/hour (1st season), $21.11/hour (2nd-3rd), and $22.37/hour (4th season+), with overtime/night work possible. CDL required; background/drug screen required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CDL Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (EI or NI).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials, or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Job description

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 per hour when handling winter/emergency operations activities.

• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials.
