Job summary

The emergency maintenance equipment operator performs routine, entry-level duties related to snow removal operations. Responsibilities are performed under direct supervision at the Fulton Maintenance Facility.

This is an on-call position with seasonal wage rates and potential overtime/nighttime work; wage rates include $20.00/hr (1st season), $21.11/hr (2nd/3rd), and $22.37/hr (4th season+), with an emergency adjustment of $3/hr during winter operations.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either EI or NI).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic.
• Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds.
• Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

This is an on-call position - hours will vary depending on weather events. This position is eligible for a temporary emergency operations adjustment of $3 per hour when handling winter/emergency operations activities. • Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials.
