Job summary

MoDOT in Missouri is seeking an on-call Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator to perform snow removal on state roads. Hourly rate varies by the area of operation and season, with an additional $1 per hour for night work (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.).

Emergency wage rates are $23.00–$26.00 (1st season), $24.11–$27.11 (2nd-3rd seasons), and $25.37–$28.37 (4th season).

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

• Operates snow plow and applies ice control, warns traffic; performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

If you are a service-oriented individual with a CDL– we want you! The emergency maintenance equipment operator performs critical snow removal from Missouri roads to ensure citizens can safety travel to their destinations.

What You'll Do

• Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen

Special Working Conditions:

• Job may require overtime and night time work.
• Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
