Job description

Regional Veterinary Referral Center - Emergency/Critical Care Department - Licensed Veterinary Technicians

Shifts Available: 7 pm - 7:30 am

Purrfect Candidate: Candidates with LVT or LVT-VTS credentials, or current Veterinary Technician students with 1+ years of experience in urgent, emergency, or critical care are preferred.

Responsibilities:

1. Work around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and odors.
2. Perform diagnostics such as phlebotomy, cystocentesis, in-house laboratory testing (CBCs, blood chemistries, urinalysis, SNAP tests, blood typing, cross matching), blood pressure measurement, radiographs, vitals, and medical math.
3. May include lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs and physical activities like climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
4. Maintain accurate medical records and update databases promptly.
5. Maintain equipment through troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
6. Use critical thinking to work effectively as a team, remaining calm and professional while problem-solving.
7. Provide excellent customer service when engaging with clients.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or medical staff.

Compensation: Pay ranges from $25 to $42 per hour, based on credentials, experience, shift commitment, and work ethic. A sign-on bonus is also offered.
