MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets in California is seeking an Emergency Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team. You will work with a collaborative care team to manage critical cases and provide high-quality patient care.

The role requires a State Registered Veterinary Technician license and prior veterinary experience, with strong math skills for dosing and CRI calculations. We offer comprehensive benefits, continuing education, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license is required.
• Prior veterinary experience is required; emergency experience preferred.
• Proficient in drug calculations and unit conversions.
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work extra hours.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
• Evaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessment
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
• Provide client education including home care instructions, medications and wellness updates on hospitalized patients
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing

We are looking for:

Emergency Licensed Veterinary Technician

What you’ll do:

Who you are:

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license required
• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
