Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Some experience working at a kennel or animal hospital preferred.
• May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provides compassionate care to pets.
• Feeds animals as prescribed by the attending veterinarian or owner.
• Recognizes and reports unusual conditions and monitors signs of distress or disease.
• Assists veterinarians and technicians with pet restraint.
• Maintains hospital cleanliness and equipment; safe use of chemicals.
• Cleans cages, runs, wards, and related areas; changes litter boxes and bowls.
• Prioritizes tasks and completes weekly/monthly chore lists.
• Maintains laundry for the kennel and hospital.
• Walks patients according to schedule.
• Communicates health recommendations to clients.
