We are looking for: Nursing/ER Veterinary Assistant
Our Nursing department offers a dynamic environment where patients require constant supervision to ensure treatment plans are executed effectively. This role is ideal for someone who can identify patient distress, react promptly, enjoys phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, assisting with recovery, and providing client follow-up and education.
What you’ll do:
  • Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases, and gather additional information as needed.
  • Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication, and nursing care concerns.
  • Provide client education, including home care instructions, medication information (indications, adverse reactions), and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
  • Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment, and procedures.
  • Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing.
Who you are:
  • Prior veterinary experience required; previous nursing or critical care experience preferred.
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
  • Flexible with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
