Job summary

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center (AESC) in Parker, CO is seeking a Veterinary Technician for the ICU swing shift. The role offers $27-$34 hourly, a $3,000 sign-on bonus, and a $3/hr overnight differential after 6pm.

Full-time hours are Mon-Thu, 6:00am–4:30pm, with comprehensive benefits. The ICU Technician will provide advanced care for critical hospitalized patients under a supervising veterinarian, document care, and collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: At least ONE YEAR of veterinary technician experience is REQUIRED to be considered for this role!
• Registered Veterinary Technician, in Colorado, or the ability to become registered upon hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus!

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced patient care to hospitalized patients.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments and procedures.
• Perform standard technician duties including patient restraint, venipuncture, SQ Fluids, radiographs, medication administration as ordered by a veterinarian, obtain and process laboratory samples, handle and dispense medications by veterinarian orders.
• Collaborate with all departments across the hospital to ensure the best patient care.
• Respond to STAT calls and follow appropriate patient care protocols.
• Maintain paperless medical records using EzyVet and Smartflow.
• Create estimates, discuss with owners, and assist with discharge.
• Attend department and staff meetings.
• Perform sedation and anesthesia according to hospital protocols.
• Contribute to cleanliness and organization of the hospital.
• Other duties as needed.
