Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Hospital of Palm Beach Gardens is seeking a Veterinary Technician for our Emergency/ICU team. Based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, this full-time role supports veterinarians, assists with critical care, and ensures efficient patient flow around the clock.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of specialty experience and strong surgery/anesthesia skills, with a willingness to float to other departments as needed. AVMA education or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technicians preferred (CVT/LVT/RVT), not required.
• 1–2 years clinical experience in a specialty service is highly preferred.
• Surgery and anesthesia experience highly preferred.
• Willingness to float to other specialty departments as needed.
• AVMA-accredited program or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality care and educate clients.
• Assist Emergency/ICU teams to maximize productivity and patient flow.
• Perform patient assessments, triage, IV catheter placement, blood collection, treatment prep.
• Monitor hospitalized/critically ill patients and communicate changes.
• Administer medications, fluids, blood products per veterinarians and Florida rules.
• Operate infusion pumps, oxygen therapy devices, ECG monitors, and other critical care equipment.
• Assist with emergency procedures, CPR, and stabilization.
• Communicate treatment plans and updates to clients; Thrive Memberships mentioned.
• Maintain accurate medical records in hospital systems
• Obtain patient histories and client information.
