Job summary

SAGE Concord is seeking a California Registered Veterinary Technician to join our 24/7 Emergency and Specialty team. You will provide hands-on nursing care for emergency, hospitalized, and critically ill patients while supporting emergency surgical procedures during the swing shift.

You must hold a California RVT license and have 2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, with strong skills in venipuncture, IV placement, anesthesia monitoring, CPR, and critical care.

Qualifications

• California RVT license required.
• Two or more years of veterinary clinical experience preferred.
• Emergency/ICU or high-volume hospital experience preferred.
• Strong skills in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medications, anesthesia monitoring, CPR, and critical patient care.
• Confidence with anesthesia, sedation, and emergency surgical support.

Responsibilities

• Triage and provide advanced nursing care for Emergency and Critical Care patients.
• Serve as the primary RVT for emergency surgical procedures during the swing shift.
• Assist veterinarians with patient assessments, stabilization, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, sample collection, and in-house diagnostics.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and CRIs as directed.
• Prepare, induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing anesthesia and sedation.
• Monitor hospitalized and critical patients and communicate changes promptly.
• Collaborate with Emergency veterinarians, RVTs, Veterinary Assistants, and Specialty teams.
