Job summary

The NYC Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Repairer for a transfer opportunity in New York City. The role involves emergency response readiness, roadway maintenance, sign installation, and patching depressions.

Candidates must have three years of full-time highway repair experience or an equivalent combination, hold a Class B CDL with air brakes, and meet residency requirements.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time experience as an Assistant City Highway Repairer or equivalent in roadway maintenance.
• Experience in asphalt/concrete patching and general highway maintenance tasks.
• Education or experience equivalent to the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Patrol city arterials and perform maintenance/repair work.
• Install, repair or remove signs on highways and city streets.
• Operate hand, electrical, gas, and power tools; work in confined spaces as needed.
• Prepare reports and monitor radio communications per SOP.

Education

Three years experience as Assistant City Highway Repairer

Three years experience in roadway maintenance/repair (last 5 years)

Education/experience equivalent to 1 or 2
