Northfield Veterinary Center is seeking an Emergency/General Practice Veterinarian to join a state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital in South Jersey. The role involves a mix of emergency and general care with a base salary of $180K+ and production, commensurate with experience.

Three 12-hour shifts per week provide a balanced schedule in a growing Ethos network. The hospital offers mentorship, collaboration, and opportunities across multiple specialties, including dentistry,

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Rotating internship or experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.
• Confidence managing emergency cases in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication with clients in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a mix of general practice and emergency care.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent/emergent cases.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care and stabilize critically ill patients.
• Perform emergency procedures and manage hospitalized patients.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Provide a mix of general practice and emergency care, seeing wellness, sick, urgent, and critical patients.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
• Completion of a rotating internship or experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred (or equivalent clinical experience).
• Confidence managing emergency cases and making sound clinical decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
