Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Firefighter II certification (NFPA 1001) required.
• Hazardous Materials Responder – Operational Level certification required.
• Current Minnesota EMT license and National Registry EMT certification required.
• Current Minnesota Paramedic certification and National Registry Paramedic Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire alarms and emergency calls as part of a team under supervision.
• Perform fire suppression, rescue, and save lives as assigned.
• Conduct fire prevention inspections and pre-fire planning.
• Maintain equipment, apparatus, and station readiness.
• Attend training to upgrade firefighting skills.
• Provide emergency medical care to injured persons.
• Respond to off-duty emergency callbacks.
• Work under supervision, with risk in emergencies, and exercise independent discretion.
• Perform other duties per standard operating procedures.
