Job summary

The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) seeks a dedicated candidate for the Emergency Dispatcher Trainee role, based at the Baltimore Metro or BWI Airport location. This trainee position covers learning police dispatching and emergency communications to support MDTA Police Officers, Fire/EMS, and the traveling public.

During a 12-month probationary period you will learn to operate the CAD system, multi-channel radio, NCIC/CJIS databases, and related security monitoring systems while

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of high school equivalency certificate.
Please include all relevant experience on your application, including part-time, volunteer, or military service.

Responsibilities

Learn routine and emergency public safety dispatch for Police and Fire/EMS in an emergency communications center.
Monitor, dispatch and receive information over a multi-channel radio and CAD system.
Answer emergency and non-emergency calls and coordinate responses with field units.
Utilize CJIS/NCIC/NLETS and related systems to retrieve and disseminate information for officers on scene.
Maintain logs, records and computer entries; work shifts may include weekends and holidays.
