Job summary

Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC invites an ED Tech to join a dynamic Emergency Department team. This role supports patient care across a range of needs from minor conditions to critical emergencies, under the guidance of experienced clinicians.

You will record vital signs, monitor status and cardiac rhythms, stock trauma bays, and help with basic care while contributing to a safe, efficient department. Full-time, days with a teamwork-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of Nurse Aide experience; phlebotomy and EKG in ED/outpatient setting desirable.
• Nurse Aide I and American Heart Association BLS required; Phlebotomy Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs and report abnormal findings.
• Monitor patient status and cardiac rhythms; alert RNs to acute changes.
• Stock and organize trauma bays and exam rooms with essential supplies.
• Provide basic patient care for personal needs and comfort.
• Complete department tasks to support safety and functioning of the ED.

Location: Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center, 1000 Medical Center Dr., Hardeeville, South Carolina 29927

Shift: Mids, 11am-11pm

Status: Full Time

What You'll Do

• Obtain and record vital signs and report abnormal findings.

• Monitor patient status and cardiac rhythms, alerting RNs to any acute changes in condition.

• Stock and organize trauma bays and exam rooms with essential medical supplies.

• A variety of basic patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.

• Responsible for completing a variety of department specific tasks to assist with optimal department safety and functioning

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience: 1 year of Nurse Aide experience. Experience in basic patient care, phlebotomy, EKG in an emergency or outpatient setting highly desirable, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Nurse Aide I, required. American Heart Association BLS required. Some departments have additional advanced CPR requirements as listed on staff annual education record, required. Phlebotomy Certification, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s) age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of medical terminology.
