Job summary

IRMC in Indiana, PA is seeking an Emergency Dept Tech for the Emergency Room Department. This full-time position supports nursing staff by providing basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, and participates in age-specific patient care across the Med-Surg unit as needed.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, a certification like BLS (required or within one month), and possibly CNA experience.

Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent.
• 1 year Medical-Surgical Nurse Aid experience preferred.
• BLS certification required (or obtain within one month of hire).
• Certified Nursing Assistant Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Identifies age-specific needs and provides appropriate care.
• Performs a variety of assigned tasks.
• Works as part of an interdisciplinary team and communicates patient condition changes to RN/GN staff.
