Job summary

Penn Medicine's Emergency Department is hiring a Part Time Emergency Department Tech to work Shift 1 (7a - 7p) in two twelve-hour shifts per week. The ED Tech supports the nurse with patient care, documentation and safety measures within a fast-paced hospital environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accurate data collection, and adherence to infection control practices, with opportunities to collaborate across clinical staff and departments.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational / Technical School / Diploma Program preferred.
• CAN or matriculating nursing student that has successfully completed clinical rotation preferred. EMT or EMPT preferred.
• BLS from the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and care team under RN supervision to deliver quality care.
• Document findings and patient data per unit policy.
• Support with activities of daily living and patient comfort measures.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the nurse.
• Participate in infection control and safety protocols.
