Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an Emergency Department Tech to provide clinical patient care support under the direction of a registered nurse. Duties include phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, trauma care, and respiratory assistance, with heavy focus on safety and efficiency.

The role covers night shifts (7P–7A) in a busy ED environment, performing charts, admissions, discharges, and coordination with the care team to ensure high-quality patient care and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program or Nursing student with Fundamentals of Nursing course.

Responsibilities

• Provide Emergency Department patient care support under RN supervision.
• Perform clerical duties, admissions/discharges in multiple systems, venipuncture, EKG lead placement, and basic trauma care.
• Transport patients and specimens, organize equipment, and assist with procedures in the ED.
