Job summary

Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro, OR is seeking an ED Support Technician to provide clinical and clerical support in the Emergency Department. Pay range $23.61–$32.83 hourly.

Responsibilities include assisting licensed staff, scheduling services, admissions/discharges, handling specimens, charting, and maintaining patient safety and cleanliness. Requires high school diploma and at least 1 year of patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year patient care in an acute care or pre-hospital setting.
• BLS certification preferred; required within 90 days.
• EMT/CNA/MA Certification or equivalent at time of hire.
• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, EKG monitoring, vital signs, blood draws.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed personnel in inventory management and report discrepancies.
• Schedule and coordinate ordered services.
• Assist admissions, transfers, and discharges; arrange transportation.
• Scan clinical information into chart after review by staff.
• Coordinate safekeeping of patient valuables and labeling.
• Coordinate clinical information to appropriate people.
• Maintain physician roster with updates.
• Transport specimens to lab and request records as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and document tasks timely.
