**Job Summary:**
Facilitates the safest and most efficient movement of patients and their belongings throughout the Medical Center. Displays courtesy and professionalism in delivering patient- and family-centered care and customer service. Utilizes routes that ensure the safety of both the patient and employee. Operates patient tracking software daily to track all movements of patients and assigned equipment.

**Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:**
- Provides direct support to patient care by safely transporting patients as directed by licensed personnel.
- Indirectly supports patient care by transporting medication, blood products, and specimens as directed.
- Maintains patient and employee safety during transports.
- Communicates effectively with nursing staff and patients/families regarding transport tasks.
- Assists nursing staff with environment maintenance and supply management.
- Handles patient equipment and supplies properly, including oxygen handling for patients requiring it.
- Maintains cleanliness of transport equipment.
- Uses proper body mechanics when assisting/transferring patients.
- Notifies the nursing unit of patient's arrival and departure.
- Maintains knowledge of the transport system.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies, standards, and code of conduct.

**Minimum Education:**
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Accredited Program in Health Science (Preferred).

**Certifications:**
- BLS - Basic Life Support (Instructor or Provider required upon hire).

**Experience:**
- Minimum 2 years in healthcare or customer service (Preferred).

**Skills:**
- Excellent people skills.
- Ability to learn and work with computers and transport systems.
