Sentara Health is seeking a qualified Emergency Department Technician to join the team on-site at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

The role supports physicians and nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency patients, performing procedures under supervision, and completing required de-escalation training. Night shifts are 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• Military Hospital Corps School qualification OR
• Clinical program student (RN/LPN/Respiratory/PT) having completed at least one semester.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in care plans for emergency patients.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Complete de-escalation and safety training within 15 days of hire.
• Maintain readiness for night-shift duty from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

This position is on-site in Norfolk, Virginia.

Night Shift - 7:00PM - 7:00AM

Overview

Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse.

De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.

BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Certification/Licensure

New incumbents must have one of the following in addition to the minimum Education :

• 1. EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• 2. Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
• 3. Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.

Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits.

The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
