Christus Health in Beaumont, TX is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the ED team. The role involves assisting RN staff, handling patient admissions, registrations, and a range of delegated tasks such as phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collection.

The position requires a HS diploma or GED, completion of approved ED tech programs or prior CHRISTUS ED Tech experience, BLS certification, and 1–2 years of patient care experience.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of listed Emergency Technician education programs or CHRISTUS ED Tech experience required.
• 1–2 years patient care experience in acute care or ED preferred.

Responsabilités

• Meets expectations of CHRISTUS Health competencies.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Observes patient condition and reports changes to RN.
• Escorts stable patients to other departments as required.
• Cleans, procures, and returns equipment and supplies.
• Maintains stock items and assists with ordering.
• Performs procedures such as venipuncture, dressing changes, pulse oximetry, and crutch training under RN direction.
• Sets up for ED procedures and assists RN as directed.
• Operates monitoring equipment, records, EKGs, and samples under RN supervision.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as ordered.
• Adapts care to patient’s developmental needs and serves as a receptionist/clerical support on the unit.
• Greet patients and document demographic, insurance, and financial information in the system.
• Adheres to CHRISTUS Health CORE values and performs other duties as assigned.
