Gundersen Health System’s Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a part-time Emergency Department Technician/EMT to join our dedicated Emergency Services team in La Crosse, WI. You’ll use EMS/EMT skills to support high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

We offer 8-hour day shifts on a 56-hour biweekly schedule, competitive starting pay, generous shift differentials, and a comprehensive benefits package including retirement and tuition programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• National Registry EMT-B or Wisconsin EMT-B required.
• Current Infant-Adult BLS for Health Care Providers required.
• Prior emergency or pre-hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ED.
• Assist with triage, monitoring, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Providers, RNs, and other team members to support recovery.

What You’ll Do:

As an Emergency Department Technician/EMT you play a direct role in saving the lives of our patients each day by serving our patients in a safe environment promoting long-term recovery. In this department, Emergency Department Technicians are expected to perform with a high degree of clinical and professional aptitude while helping deliver patient care as part of a professional multidisciplinary team of Providers, RNs, Paramedics, Emergency Department Technicians, Respiratory Therapists, Health Unit Coordinators, and Social Workers.

What’s Available:

• Part-time, 56 hours biweekly (0.7 FTE). Will orientate/train as close to full-time as possible including on day shift

• 8-hour day shifts (7a-3p) with every other weekend/holiday rotation

• Starting pay of $19.05 per hour and up, based on your years of experience, with generous shift/weekend/holiday differentials

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma or equivalency

• National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT) or Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)

• Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers

• Prior work experience in an emergency or pre-hospital setting is strongly preferred
