Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Washington state is seeking an Emergency Department Tech to provide direct patient care under RN supervision, combining CNA and monitor technician responsibilities.
You will perform phlebotomy, wound care, and cardiac monitoring, support nurses and physicians, manage supplies, and coordinate patient flow in a fast-paced ED.
The role requires EKG certification within 90 days and strong communication and computer skills.
As our Emergency Department Tech, you will have the duties and responsibilities of both the Patient Care Technician (C.N.A) and Monitor Technician, including other specific responsibilities outlined below. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Every day you will provide support to nursing and physician staff by performing tasks and procedures that assist in the care and treatment of patients with illnesses and injuries. Additionally, you will organize, replace, and maintain inventory and supply levels in the department.
To be successful in this role, you will perform phlebotomy, splinting, Point of Care, and wound care interventions, supporting the work of nursing, EKG, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and respiratory therapy staff. You will also provide on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors, giving RNs immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms and/or vital signs, and perform Patient Flow Coordinator duties in the Emergency Department.
