McLaren Health Care is seeking an ER support role to assist emergency department nursing and medical staff with patient care and clerical duties. The position involves a range of patient care activities in the ED and ensuring rooms and equipment are ready for each patient.
Responsibilities include collecting specimens, starting IVs, monitoring patients, and documenting observations. A six-month healthcare experience and relevant EMT/MA/CNA certification are required, with full-time scheduling

Position Summary: Under the direct supervision, provides assistance to the emergency department nursing and medical staff with patient care and clerical duties. Performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for patients in the emergency department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Provides direct and indirect patient care, assisting nursing and physician staff with patient care procedures.
2. Inventories and restocks emergency department equipment.
3. Collects and transports specimens such as urine, blood, and cultures.
4. Assists with the admission and discharge of patients, initiates and discontinues intravenous lines, cleans and prepares examination room between patients.
5. Places patients on monitors, provides wound care, assists with orthopedic procedures and other emergency room procedures as requested.
6. Reports and records observations in the patient medical record.
7. Reports patient care needs and changes in condition to the nursing staff.
8. Performs all other duties as assigned.
