Job summary

HealthPartners in Minnesota is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will contribute to fast-paced ED operations, assist with direct care, and help ensure safety and timely service for patients.

The role requires completion of an EDT or EMT program, current EMT/First Responder certification or Paramedic license, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• EDT or EMT program completed.
• Current EMT/First Responder cert or Paramedic license.
• BLS certification current or to be obtained within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a fast-paced ED.
• Utilize EPIC and other patient care technology to document care.

Are you passionate about patient care and thrive in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to join our team! In this role, you’ll provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing your skill and expertise to complement other health care providers.

Work Schedule: 9am-9:30 pm, variable workdays and every third weekend.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of EDT program or EMT program

• Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or First Responder certified, or Paramedic License

• BLS certification (If not current, within 30 days of start date)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
• Familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, EMTALA and discrimination and harassment laws).
• Proven proficiency with:
  • Telephones
  • Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Epic
  • Current patient care technology
  • EC tracking system
