Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, KS, seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support the ED team under the RN's supervision. You will perform clinical tasks, monitor patients, and assist with procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

Key requirements include EMT-B program completion with IV certification, BLS, and state EMT license. Prior healthcare exposure is preferred; strong teamwork and communication are essential to ensure timely, quality

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Graduate of a state-certified EMT-B program with IV certification or state paramedic certification.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
EMT license or certification required by the employing state.

Responsibilities

Delivers patient care as directed by the RN or physician.
Performs point-of-care tests, IV therapy, phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG recording, and other technical tasks.
Transports patients and assists providers with sterile procedures such as suturing or central line placement.
Communicates with RN and physician regarding patient/family observations to support treatment.
Records tasks and observations in the patient record according to medical and legal standards.
